Blood Agar with Gentamicin is a selective and differential medium used for the isolation of Streptococcus pneumonia. The additional of 5% sheep blood enriches the medium by providing essential growth factors and allows hemolytic reactions to be observed. Gentamicin is inhibitory to most Enterobacteriaceae, Neisseria, and Staphylococcus species. • Product meets ASM and CLSI performance criteria.• Blood Agar w/ Gentamicin should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.• Product contains 10µg/mL Gentamicin.
