Dermatophyte Test Medium (DTM) is a selective and differential medium utilized for the detection and presumptive identification of dermatophytes from clinical and veterinary specimens. Rapidly-growing species may produce a complete color change in the medium in 3 days. Slower-growing species will change the indicator in longer time periods. Other organisms may grow, but will not produce a color change. A few organisms, including saprophytes, yeasts, and bacteria are capable of changing the medium from red to yellow, but are easily recognized by their distinctive colonial morphology. • Product meets CLSI performance criteria.• DTM should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
