Dichloran Glycerol 18% (DG-18) Agar is a selective, non-differential medium used for the enumeration of viable osmophilic yeasts and xerophilic molds in products intended for human consumption or animal feed products that have a water activity ≤ 0.95, by means of the colony count technique at 25°C ±1°C. Dichloran is an antifungal agent, which prevents spreading mucoraceous fungi and restricts the colony size of other genera. Additional selectivity against bacterial growth is achieved by the incorporation of the heatstable antibiotic Chloramphenicol.• Product meets CLSI and ISO reference standards and performance criteria.• DG-18 should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
