Malt Extract Agar with 0.01% Chloramphenicol (MEA w/CHL) is a selective and non-differential medium used for the isolation, cultivation, and enumeration of yeasts and molds. The acidic pH of MEA inhibits bacterial growth while allowing optimal growth of fungi. The medium is made selective by the addition of the antimicrobic, Chloramphenicol, which inhibits Gram-negative microorganisms.• Product meets BAM and CLSI reference methods and performance criteria.• MEA w/CHL should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
