S2 Media 15x100mm Middlebrook 7H11 Agar, Deep Fill, 10/pack
Supplier: S2 Media 5334
Middlebrook 7H11 Agar is a selective and non-differential medium used for the isolation and cultivation of mycobacteria. Cohn et al. modified Middlebrook 7H10 by adding enzymatic digest of casein and determined organism growth was stimulated for fastidious strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The use of agar-based media for primary isolation of mycobacteria have two significant advantages. (1) They do not usually liquefy in the presence of contaminating proteolytic organisms. (2) They retain exact concentrations of added drugs because the medium is solidified with agar rather than by inspissation of the egg. There is less drug inactivation when egg ingredients are absent.• Product meets BAM and USP-NF reference methods and performance criteria.• MEA w/LT should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
