Mycobiotic (MYC) Agar is a selective, non-differential medium used for the isolation and cultivation of pathogenic fungi from samples with a large background flora. (This product is equivalent to Mycocel Agar.) Cycloheximide inhibits saprophytic fungi. Chloramphenicol is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that inhibits gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Norcardia species. The medium was developed in 1958 for isolating Coccidiodes immitis.• Product meets CLSI reference methods and performance criteria.• MYC Agar should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
