S2Media™ Potato Flake Agar (PFA) is a non-selective and non-differential medium used for the cultivation and maintenance of pathogenic and opportunistic fungi. Potato flakes provide complex sugars that fungi metabolize, supporting robust vegetative growth. Low nitrogen content compared with carbon triggers fungi to enter reproductive (sporulation) stages. The firm surface allow fungi to grow in a structured colony, which mimics natural surfaces where sporulation occurs. The medium retains water without excessive liquid, maintaining an environment conducive to spore formation.• Product meets ASM and CLSI performance criteria.• Potato Flake Agar (PFA) should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
