Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SabDex/SDA) is a selective and non-differential medium used for cultivating pathogenic and commensal fungi and yeasts. It is a modification of Dextrose Agar as described by Sabouraud. The high dextrose concentration and acidic pH of the formula permits selectivity of fungi. Lecithin neutralizes quaternary ammonium compounds and polysorbate 80 neutralizes substituted phenolic disinfectants. Contact plates are utilized for environmental monitoring of surfaces of sanitary importance and other applications.• Product (base) meets AOAC, APHA, ASM, BAM, CLSI, Harmonized USP/EP/JP, NF, and SM-Dairy reference methods and performance criteria.• SabDex Agar with Lecithin and Tween should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
