Description
Hybridization signals of digoxigenin-labeled polynucleotides appear as dark green colored distinct dots (19p13 region), and dinitrophenyl-labeled polynucleotides appear as bright red colored distinct dots (19q13 region).
Normal situation: In interphases of normal cells or cells without aberrations of chromosome 19, two red (19q13) signals and two green (19p13) signals appear.
Aberrant situation: In a cell with deletions affecting the 19q13 locus, one or no copy of the red signal will be observed.
Other signal distribution may be observed in some abnormal samples which might result in a different signal pattern than described above, indicating variant rearrangements.
Unexpected signal patterns should be further investigated.
