D/E (Dey-Engley) Neutralizing Broth with Tween 80 is utilized for the neutralization and testing of antiseptics and disinfectants according to the procedures of Engley and Dey. The broth contains a high concentration of lecithin (7.0g/L) and is opaque in appearance. Therefore, turbidity alone cannot be used as a visual indication of growth and subculture onto a suitable solid media is recommended. Organisms that ferment dextrose will cause a color shift from purple to yellow. Species that do not ferment dextrose can form pellicles on the surface of the medium. • Product meets AAMI, APHA, ISO, SM-Dairy, and USP-NF reference methods and performance criteria.• D/E Neutralizing Broth should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.• Product contains polysorbate 80.
