Antigen Background Cytokeratin 18 is normally co-expressed with cytokeratin 8 and is found in most simple ductal and glandular epithelia. Product Specific Information CK18 reacts with the acidic cytokeratin intermediate filament protein (45 kD) identified as cytokeratin 18. Cytokeratin 18 is reported not to be expressed in stratified squamous epithelium on most squamous cell carcinomas. Disclaimer Cytokeratin 18 is recommended for the detection of specific antigens of interest in normal and neoplastic tissues, as an adjunct to conventional histopathology using non-immunologic histochemical stains.
