Salt Sabouraud Dulcitol (SSD) Broth is a selective and non-differential medium used in qualitative screening procedures for the cultivation and selection of Candida auris, an emerging pathogen with multidrug resistance. SSD Broth is used as an enrichment step to support growth Candida auris, which can be present in complex skin samples. Multiple published methods are available and include use of a pre-enrichment step (utilizing SSD Broth) with subsequent subculture onto Salt Sabouraud Dulcitol Agar or a chromogenic medium such as Chameleon™ COLOREX™ Candida Plus. Direct plating methods are also available to enumerate and isolate colonies for additional identification testing. • Product meets CDC and CLSI reference methods and performance criteria.• SSDB should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
