S2Media™ 6x Lauryl Tryptose Broth (LTB-6 or 6xLSB) with Bromocresol Purple is a selective liquid medium ued for the detection of coliforms in materials of sanitary importance. The fermentation of lactose with gas formation, typically collected in an inverted Durham tube, is a presumptive test for coliforms. Bromocresol purple is a pH indicator, causing the solution to shift from purple to yellow when lactose fermentation occurs.
