BPAM344 is a positive allosteric modulator (PAM) of kainate receptor (KAR) subunits GluK1b, GluK2a, and GluK3a, primarily used for research. It potentiates glutamate-evoked currents of GluK2a and significantly decreases desensitization kinetics. It also modulates AMPA receptor activity in primary neuron cell cultures.
- Positive allosteric modulator of KAR subunits GluK1b, GluK2a, GluK3a
- Potentiates glutamate-evoked currents of GluK2a (EC50 of 79 μM)
- Decreases desensitization kinetics (5.5 to 775 ms)
- Potentiates peak current amplitude of KAR and AMPA receptor subunits
- Modulates AMPA receptor in rat embryonic cortex primary neuronal culture (EC50 of 0.9 μM)
- Molecular weight: 242.27
- Chemical formula: C10H11FN2O2S
- Appearance: White to off-white solid
