It has been shown to cause a dose-related decrease in plasma cholesterol and triglyceride levels in rats and dogs.

  • Decreases cytosolic Ac-CoA level, expected to decrease acetylated and active β-catenin levels.
  • Causes a dose-related decrease in plasma cholesterol (up to 46%) and triglyceride levels (up to 80%) in rats.
  • Decreases plasma cholesterol levels (up to 23%) and triglyceride levels (up to 38%) in dogs, preferentially decreasing low-density lipoprotein.
  • Appears as a solid, white to off-white.
