It was also used in first enantioselective total synthesis of a neurotrophic (-)-talaumidin. 4-Benzyloxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde reacts with benzohydrazide to yield (E)-N?-(4-benzyloxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)benzohydrazide.
