ZT-1a is a small-molecule, non-ATP-competitive inhibitor of STE20/SPS1-related proline-alanine-rich kinase (SPAK/STK39). It has been reported to inhibit SPAK enzymatic activity with mid-micromolar IC50 values and is used as a biochemical probe to study SPAK-dependent regulation of ion transporters.
- Non-ATP-competitive inhibition of SPAK
- Reported IC50 values: 44.3 μM (0.01 mM ATP), 35.0 μM (0.1 mM ATP), 46.7 μM (1 mM ATP)
- Molecular formula: C22H15Cl3N2O2
- Molecular weight: 445.73 g·mol⁻¹
- Useful as a biochemical probe for studying SPAK-dependent signaling
- Available in small research quantities for in vitro studies
