5x Tetrathionate Broth Base with Brilliant Green (5x TT w/BG), when combined with iodine-iodide solution, is a selective enrichment broth used for the isolation of Salmonella species from materials of sanitary importance. Mueller demonstrated the effectiveness of Tetrathionate Broth (supplemented) for enriching typhoid and paratyphoid bacilli while inhibiting coliform organisms. Using modified Mueller’s broth, Kauffmann increased the number of positive isolates. Salmonella ssp. may be injured in food-processing procedures, including exposure to low temperatures, submarginal heat, drying, radiation, preservative, and sanitizers. • Product meets AOAC, APHA, ASM, BAM, CLSI, EP, SM-Dairy, SMWW, and USP-NF reference methods and performance criteria.• To be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.• Product is a 5x strength.
