7-Ethoxyresorufin, also known as Resorufin ethyl ether, is a fluorometric substrate and competitive inhibitor of cytochrome P450, specifically CYP1A1. It also inhibits NO synthase. This compound has been shown to reduce the relaxant actions of acetylcholine in endothelium-intact rings and of NO, GTN, and SNP in endothelium-denuded rings in rat aortic rings.
