7-Ethoxyresorufin (Resorufin ethyl ether) is a fluorometric substrate and competitive inhibitor of cytochrome P450, particularly CYP1A1. It also inhibits NO synthase.

  • Reduces the relaxant actions of acetylcholine in endothelium-intact rings and of NO, GTN, and SNP in endothelium-denuded rings in a concentration-dependent manner.
  • Reacts with NADPH in the presence of acid to form a product that fluoresces at the same wavelength as Resorufin.
