7-keto-Deoxycholic acid is a metabolite of bile acids found in *Clostridium absonum* and is also converted by *Lactobacillus* and *Bifidobacterium* under specific conditions. In vitro research shows that it exhibits an increased bioconversion rate with the addition of an equimolar concentration of deoxycholic acid, suggesting it is induced and subsequently metabolized. For example, *E. lentum*-like c-25 has been shown to convert cholic acid to deoxycholic acid and 7-keto-Deoxycholic acid during anaerobic incubation.
