8-CPT-Cyclic AMP sodium is a selective activator of cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA). It is also a potent inhibitor of the cyclic GMP-specific phosphodiesterase (PDE VA) with an IC50 of 0.9 μM. Additionally, 8-CPT-Cyclic AMP sodium inhibits PDE III and PDE IV with IC50 values of 5.5 μM and 6.6 μM, respectively, and is a potent Epac activator. It has been shown to delay TNF-α/CHX-induced and α-Fas-induced apoptosis in neutrophils.
