Tryptic Soy Broth with Lecithin and Tween 20(TSB w/LT20) is a general-purpose, enriched medium recommended for the detection and recovery of microorganisms in environmental monitoring where disinfectant residues may be present. It is also recommended for sterility testing products. The addition of lecithin and Tween 20 serve as neutralizers for quaternary ammonium compounds and phenolic disinfectants, respectively, enhancing the recovery of organisms that may be stressed or injured by cleaning agents. This medium was developed between the 1970's and 1980's to address an increasing demand for reliable microbial recovery in pharmaceutical settings and cleanroom environments.• Product meets APHA, CLSI, USP-NF and SMWW reference methods and performance criteria.• TSB w/LT20 should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
