Defects in this gene have been associated with long QT syndrome type 3 (LQT3), atrial fibrillation, cardiomyopathy, and Brugada syndrome 1, all autosomal dominant cardiac diseases. Alternative splicing results in several transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
