Actinonin is a naturally occurring antibacterial agent produced by Actinomyces. It inhibits aminopeptidase M, aminopeptidase N, and leucine aminopeptidase. Actinonin is also a potent reversible peptide deformylase (PDF) inhibitor and inhibits several MMPs and hmeprin α. It induces apoptosis and exhibits antiproliferative and antitumor activities.
