AD 01 is a 24 amino acid peptide derived from FKBPL (FK506-binding protein like) with potent anti-angiogenic activity. It binds to the CD44 receptor, inhibiting tumor cell migration in a CD44-dependent manner. In vitro studies show AD-01 up-regulates CD44 expression in MDA-MB-231 and HMEC-1 cells. In vivo, AD 01 has demonstrated significant anti-tumor activity in DU145 tumors in Balb-c severe compromised immuno-deficient (SCID) mice, significantly lowering tumor size.
