NAD(P)H oxidase inhibitor. Inhibits activation of TGFbeta and activates JNK and p38 MAP kinases. beta-Secretase inhibitor. Shown to inhibit beta-amyloid peptide production and enhance APP (amyloid precursor protein) secretion in several cell lines at millimolar concentrations.
