Inhibit EGFR, HER2, JAK2, JAK3, and STAT5a/b with AG-490 (Gazit et al. J Med Chem, 1991; Burger et al. Mol Cancer, 2009; Brown et al. Bioorg Med Chem Lett, 2000; Wang et al. J Immunol, 1999). This tyrosine kinases inhibitor induces differentiation of mouse (OG2) embryonic stem cells, with LIF and BMP4 (Chen et al. Proc Natl Acad Sci USA, 2006). AG-490 is also used in cancer research to block the growth of acute lymphoblastic leukemia pre-B cells (Meydan et al. Nature, 1996); inhibit the proliferation of cervical carcinoma cell lines (Soto-Cruz et al. Cancer Invest, 2008); and induce S phase arrest of GL15 glioblastoma cells via JAK2 inhibition (Sciaccaluga et al. Oncol Rep, 2007).
