All of the VECTASTAIN kits are based on the versatile avidin-biotin complex (ABC) interaction, and different kit variations can be used to accommodate a wide array of primary antibody and tissue species. The avidin-biotin complex, once formed, is stable and can be used for several days after preparation. VECTASTAIN ABC-AP Standard Kit is an option for customers who want to use their own biotinylated secondary antibody. This kit uses alkaline phosphatase (AP) as a detection enzyme. The VECTASTAIN ABC-AP Standard Kit may be used to detect any biotinylated target, not just secondary antibodies. Includes: 3 ml normal horse serum, 2 ml Reagent A (avidin) and 2 ml Reagent B (biotinylated AP). This kit does not include a species-specific secondary antibody. Stains 1000-2000 sections.
