Amikacin hydrate is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from kanamycin A.

It is effective against gram-negative bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and a variety of enteric species. It is also effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
