Anaerobic Blood Agar (CDC) 20mL Plates, 10/Pk is an enriched, nonselective medium formulated for the isolation and cultivation of obligate anaerobic bacteria from clinical specimens. It supports recovery of fastidious organisms including Clostridium, Bacteroides, Fusobacterium, and Peptostreptococcus species. The medium contains 5% defibrinated sheep blood, which enhances bacterial growth and enables observation of hemolytic reactions useful for organism differentiation. Each plate is pre poured with 20mL of sterile agar to maintain consistent depth and reliable growth conditions during anaerobic incubation. These plates are suitable for routine diagnostic microbiology, research laboratories, and educational settings where reliable anaerobic bacterial recovery and hemolysis detection are required.
