Specificity: Clone G11 recognizes human CD2. Antigen Distribution: CD2 is present on normal peripheral blood lymphocytes, thymocytes, mature circulating T-cells and a subset of NK cells. Background: CD2 is a 50 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the Ig superfamily. CD2 is the receptor for LFA-3/CD58. This binding enhances T-cell activation mediated by the T-cell antigen receptor (TCR). Applications: (WB, FA) Anti-Human CD2 can be used to deplete CD2 positive cells by complement-mediated cytotoxicity. Analyses of NK lymphocyte subsets and identification of lymphomas and leukemias of T-cell origin have been done using Anti-CD2 antibodies. Leinco’s In vivo GOLDTM and In vivo PLATINUMTM functional antibodies are manufactured in an animal free facility using only In vitro cell culture techniques and are purified by a multi-step process including the use of protein A or G to assure extremely low levels of endotoxins, leachable protein A or aggregates.
