Specificity: Clone 6B11 recognizes TCR Vα24-Jα18. Antigen Distribution: TCR Vα24-Jα18 is expressed primarily on invariant NKT cells, which are a small subset of T lymphocytes. Background: Invariant NKT cells have been reported to play a role in immune regulation, tumor surveillance, and host response to pathogens. They can be specifically activated by CD1d-presented antigen resulting in immediate production of IL-4 and IFNγ. Applications: (WB) Clone 6B11 reacts with a unique epitope in the CDR3 region of TCR Vα24-Jα18 and is able to identify a subset of all Vα24 positive T cells. The binding of the PE-conjugate of 6B11 may be partly blocked by antibodies specific for Vα24.
