The FGK4.5 monoclonal antibody targets mouse CD40 (Bp50), a 48 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) superfamily. CD40 is expressed on antigen-presenting cells (APCs) and non-immune cells, functioning as a costimulatory molecule essential for B cell activation, differentiation, proliferation, and Ig isotype switching, as well as dendritic cell maturation.
