The 53-6.7 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD8α. CD8 is a transmembrane glycoprotein that functions as a co-receptor for the T cell receptor (TCR) and binds to class I MHC molecules presented by antigen-presenting cells (APC). It is primarily expressed on cytotoxic T cells, thymocytes, natural killer cells, and some dendritic cell subsets. This antibody has in vivo depleting activity.
