Specificity: Clone AFS98 recognizes an epitope on mouse M-CSFR. Antigen Distribution: M-CSFR is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, peritoneal exudate cells, plasmacytoid cells, dendritic cells, and osteoclasts. Background: M-CSFR is a 145 kD protein, is part of the Ig superfamily, and triggers growth and development of mononuclear phagocytes and placental trophoblasts. M-CSF and its receptor present as candidate therapeutic targets in states of inflammatory bone erosion. Applications: (WB, B, FA) When M-CSF ligand specifically binds to the M-CSF receptor on osteoclasts, it induces receptor dimerization, activation and autophosphorylation of cytoplasmic tyrosine residues.
