Specificity: Clone 500 A2 recognizes an epitope on mouse CD3ε. Antigen Distribution: CD3ε is expressed on differentiation-dependent thymocytes, mature T cells and NK-T cells. Background: CD3ε is a 20 kDa transmembrane protein and is a member of the Ig superfamily. It is one of five polypeptide chains that form the TCR complex by associating with the CD3δ, γ and ζ chains in addition to the TCR α/β or γ/δ chains. CD3 is involved in TCR signaling, T lymphocyte activation, and antigen recognition. Applications: (FA) The binding of Hamster Anti-Mouse CD3ε (Clone 500 A2) to CD3 initiates the intracellular biochemical pathway resulting in cellular activation and proliferation.
