Specificity: Clone 53-5.8 recognizes an epitope on mouse CD8b.2. Antigen Distribution: CD8b.2 is expressed on the majority of thymocytes and cytotoxic T cell subsets. Background: It is a member of the Ig superfamily and is expressed as a heterodimer with the CD8α chain on a subset of MHC class I-restricted T cells and most thymocytes. Applications: (WB, FA) It is specific for Ly-3.2 and has low reactivity with Ly-3.1.
