Specificity: Clone MIB-5E9.1 recognizes mouse IFNβ. Antigen Distribution: IFNβ is found on fibroblasts and epithelial cells. Background: IFNß is a type I IFN that signals through the same cell surface receptor as IFNα, and has a similar range of biological functions including in antiviral and antiproliferative activity. IFN-ß is beneficial in patients with multiple sclerosis and is a potential therapy for rheumatoid arthritis. It is not fully understood what mechanisms are involved in the therapeutic effects of IFNß, but a restored balance between pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines is suspected. Leinco’s In vivo GOLDTM and In vivo PLATINUMTM functional antibodies are manufactured in an animal free facility using only In vitro cell culture techniques and are purified by a multi-step process including the use of protein A or G to assure extremely low levels of endotoxins, leachable protein A or aggregates.
