Specificity: Clone UCHM-1 recognizes Human CD14. Antigen Distribution: CD14 is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and granulocytes. Background: CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored single chain glycoprotein that enhances activation of cells by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). CD14 is a high-affinity receptor for LPS. As such, it is involved in the upregulation of adhesion molecules and cytokine expression in monocytes and neutrophils. CD14 also plays a role in the clearance of gram-negative pathogens.
