Specificity: Clone C9B7W recognizes & specifically binds to an epitope in the D2 domain of CD223. Antigen Distribution: CD223 is expressed on T regulatory cells, activated T cells & NK cells. Background: CD223 is a 70-kD, type-I transmembrane glycoprotein within the Ig superfamily & is structurally homologous to CD4. CD223 binds MHC class II molecules. Applications: (IP, WB, FA) C9B7W has been shown to inhibit the suppressor function of T regulatory cells in vitro & in vivo. Clone C9B7W blocks the CD223-mediated inhibition of IL-2 production by a T-cell hybridoma responding to antigen. C9B7W is unable to block the binding of MHC class II-IgG2a fusion protein to CD223.
