Background: TGF-β1,2,3 belong to a large family of cytokines called TGF-β superfamily, and function through the same receptor signaling systems. The TGF-β superfamily includes endogenous growth inhibiting proteins and an increase in expression of TGF-β correlates with the malignancy of various cancers.
