Apoptosis Inhibitor (CAS 54135-60-3) is a small molecule that modulates apoptotic processes by antagonizing pathways involved in caspase-3-mediated cell death It has been shown to suppress Fas ligand-induced cytotoxicity in human WC8 cells (IC50 67 g/ml) and etoposide-induced apoptosis in U937 cells (IC50 130 g/ml) as well as reduce caspase-3 activation in U937 cells (IC50 79 g/ml) The compound does not directly inhibit caspase-3 enzymatic activity in vitro indicating an upstream mechanism In vivo administration leads to decreased numbers of apoptotic neurons and reduced caspase-3 cells in neural and regenerative models Apoptosis Inhibitor is a valuable tool for studying caspase-dependent apoptosis and tissue regeneration
