ASTM D6079 HFRR upper and lower specimens (also known as disk and ball HFRR specimens) are manufactured by Pacific Sensor, Metaspec's sister company. HFRR (High Frequency Reciprocating Rig) lubricity testing uses a single ball and disk for each test. The HFRR disks are available with a single-sided or double-sided polished finish. Double-sided disk specimens can be used to run two tests instead of just one, which reduces the cost of testing by 25%.
