Atazanavir-d6 is a deuterium-labeled variant of Atazanavir (BMS-232632), a highly selective HIV-1 protease inhibitor. It was the first protease inhibitor approved for once-daily administration. Atazanavir-d6 acts as a substrate and inhibitor of CYP3A4, and also inhibits and induces P-glycoprotein (P-gp). It has also been identified as a SARS-CoV 3CLpro inhibitor with an IC50 of 3.49 μM. Deuterium labeling incorporates stable heavy isotopes into the drug molecule, which can impact pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles and serve as tracers for quantitative analysis.
- Used as a tracer
- Used as an internal standard for quantitative analysis by NMR, GC-MS, or LC-MS
