ATCC ATCC Cell Line, Osteoblast, Mus musculus, Alkaline Phosphatase Expressing
Supplier: ATCC CRL3667
This 7F2 clone expresses alkaline phosphatase, secretes type I collagen, demonstrates a significant cyclic adenosine monophosphate response to parathyroid hormone, secretes osteocalcin, and shows extensive mineralization. It can be induced to undergo massive adipocyte differentiation, which results in the complete loss of expression of all osteoblastic markers except alkaline phosphatase, suggesting that some cells with mature osteoblast characteristics can be diverted to the adipocyte pathway.
