Atropine methyl bromide is a muscarinic receptor (mAChR) antagonist. It is a quaternary ammonium salt of atropine that functions as a mydriatic for pupil dilation during ophthalmic examinations. Due to its highly polar nature, it is also used to relieve pyloric spasm in infants and demonstrates reduced penetration into the central nervous system compared to atropine.
