Atropine methyl bromide is a muscarinic receptor (mAChR) antagonist. It is a quaternary ammonium salt of atropine and acts as a mydriatic for pupil dilation during ophthalmic examinations. Due to its highly polar nature, it is used to relieve pyloric spasms in infants and penetrates the central nervous system less readily than atropine.
