LC3 is a small protein often used as a marker of cell autophagy. LC3 is found in cells in two forms: LC3-I which is found in the soluble fraction, and LC3-II which is found in the membrane fraction. Both forms are found in non-starved cells, but the proportion of LC3-II increases during autophagy induction. Cell Biolabs' Autophagy ELISA Kit provides a specific method for the quantitation of LC3-II in cell lysates. Each kit provides sufficient reagents for 96 assays including standards and unknown samples.
