AZ 628 is a pan-Raf kinase inhibitor, effectively targeting B-Raf, B-RafV600E, and c-Raf-1. It also inhibits the activation of various tyrosine protein kinases, including VEGFR2, DDR2, Lyn, Flt1, and FMS. This compound is known to inhibit anchorage-dependent and -independent growth, induce cell cycle arrest, and promote apoptosis in colon and melanoma cell lines with the B-RafV600E mutation. Furthermore, it suppresses growth in cells expressing K-RASG13D and specifically affects the viability of K-RAS mutant cells.
